Tell me how you and your spouse met!?
love love stories! Tell me how you met….about your dating and engagement! Was it difficult….were there rough spots, seperations? What’s the key to a happy healthy marriage? Tell me your story!
i met my husband accidently at a coffee house when i was 19, i was suppose to meet my friend paul up there and he happened to run into his friend nick(my now husband) we all sat down and were talking and my first impression was that i thought he was a jerk, and at the end of the night i was thinking to myself’ i hope i never see this guy again. well the next day i went to visit paul at his work for lunch and he told me ‘ you made an impression on nick last night.’
“who?” was my response.
“my friend from the coffee house.”
“oh….what kind of impression?”
“he wants to get to know you better.”
“uh…. i dont want to get to know him better.”
“oh hes really nice though once you get to know him.”
“if you give him my number paul i will kill you.”
“i wont.”
well a couple days later i got a message on my answering machine from nick saying that he got my number from paul and he wanted ot know if i wanted to hang out. i was pissed and i called paul and screamed him stupid, his response ” you guys would make a great couple.”
i agreed to meet nick to tell him that i did not like him like that, he said for me to give him a chance and hang out as friends and i would see what a nice guy he was. i said that i would only hang out with him a couple times and that was it, i was not looking for friendship or anything esle from him but i figured i would at least get a couple free meals from him, i hung out with him and i realized that i was wrong about him, he was sweet when he wanted to be, he brought me little gifts, and liked me for me cause i was goth and he was a polo shirt and jeans normal type guy and he accepted me for me and he grew on me, i started to like him alot, we started going out, moved in together and a year in a half later we were married. i love him more than ever, the key to a happy marriage is not to follow anyones advise on marriage, yes there are rough spots, tons of fights, be you have to go to the beat of your own drummer if you want to be happy and just accept the person for who they are and dont expect them to change. and do not expect perfect becasue you will not get that. do not expect happily ever after because that does not always happen. expect them to love you and love them back as they are flawed and all and you will be happy.
